Happy Saturday Summer Solstice. I hope whatever you're doing that you are enjoying the longest days of the year. It's 7:10 PM here in beautiful British Columbia, and it's still sunny and warm outside. Gotta love it.
I'm sitting here at my computer enjoying this, thankfully, cool summer day, and editing Bollywood Storm, Book Two: Mumbai, which is to be released late July of this year.
We have also begun the galley proof for the print book for Bollywood Storm, Book one New York for release in paper back in the fall. We will be looking for people to read and provide reviews, so if you're interested, please go to the EFG Publishing contact page and send us a message.
Bollywood Storm: New York has been out in e-book format since April 14, and people have had a chance to respond, both formally and informally. I'd like to thank Perry and Eunice who took the time to drop a review on Amazon for Bollywood Storm, Book One: New York. I appreciate it.
Bollywood isn't just for movies by Perry A. Wilson
A fresh breath of something different By Eunice Muvasva @EJShoko
From the more informal messages I've gotten from readers through Facebook and Twitter, the responses are consistent in that readers are finding it not only a fast-moving enjoyable read that they couldn't put it down, but that it's complex and thought provoking. Most all of them say they didn't know what was going to happen next, and they liked that. There is a pageantry, a panoramic and cinematic experience of reading Bollywood Storm makes it seem as though they are watching, or are in a movie at times.
The dark comedy element is an interesting tool, along with Elanna and her unpredictable and seemingly unlimited abilities. Her character is an excellent vehicle to explore ideas, culture and 'what is' in this world and see where it all goes. A friend of mine once said: "There is a million things between heaven and earth." Though it was not an original saying, it is one of the truest statements I've heard.
Open the doors. Look outside. Take a fresh breath of something different.
It's summer.
